Week 7 scoreboard: Oxford hits 51, Western scores 77, Berkley wins in OT

Every Oakland County high school football final we could verify from Friday, Oct. 9, plus where things stand heading into Week 8.

Here is every Oakland County high school football result from Friday, Oct. 9, that the Journal could verify. Scores and records are from MaxPreps game recaps and team schedule pages. Separate stories cover Clarkston-Lake Orion, Ferndale-Royal Oak, South Lyon-South Lyon East and Madison-Clawson.

OAA

  • Oxford 51, West Bloomfield 7. Oxford led 35-7 at halftime and scored a season high. The Wildcats are 6-1 and 3-1 in the OAA Red. West Bloomfield is 1-6.
  • Groves 37, Waterford Mott 12 on Mott's homecoming night. Groves is 5-2; Mott is 3-4.
  • Rochester Adams 23, Rochester Hills Stoney Creek 14 in the city rivalry. Adams is 4-3. Stoney Creek, which had already clinched the OAA White, is 5-2 and saw a four-game win streak end.
  • Rochester 34, Troy Athens 14. Rochester is 4-3; Athens is 2-5.
  • Bloomfield Hills 54, Troy 28. A season high for the Black Hawks, now 3-4. Troy is 0-7.
  • Berkley 25, Auburn Hills Avondale 18 (OT). Both teams are 3-4.
  • Oak Park 38, Southfield Arts & Tech 12. Oak Park led 32-6 at halftime and is 3-4. A&T is 1-6.
  • Waterford Kettering 44, Pontiac 0. Kettering snapped a five-game losing streak and is 2-5. Pontiac is 0-7.
  • Harper Woods 47, Birmingham Seaholm 7. Seaholm is 4-3.

Lakes Valley Conference

  • Walled Lake Western 77, Walled Lake Northern 28 in the district rivalry. Western is 6-1 with four straight wins; Northern is 1-6.
  • North Farmington 26, Livonia Stevenson 7. Quarterback Elijah Cobb threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns and ran 11 times for 125 yards, and Ryan Jones ran for 112 yards and a score, according to MaxPreps. North Farmington is 5-2.
  • Livonia Franklin 35, Lakeland 28. The game was tied 21-21 at halftime. Lakeland is 1-6.
  • Livonia Churchill 35, Walled Lake Central 0. Central is 1-6.

Flint Metro, MAC and others

  • Brandon 48, Owosso 20. Brandon is 5-2.
  • Holly 63, Flint Kearsley 34. A season high for Holly, now 5-2.
  • Warren Fitzgerald 32, Madison Heights Lamphere 24. Lamphere's five-game win streak ended; the Rams are 5-2 and 4-1 in the MAC Gold.
  • Hazel Park 45, Detroit University Prep 12. Hazel Park is 3-4.

Catholic League

  • Detroit Catholic Central 27, Orchard Lake St. Mary's 20. Catholic Central is 7-0; St. Mary's is 5-2.
  • Toledo Central Catholic 49, Birmingham Brother Rice 27. Rice is 5-2.
  • Notre Dame Prep 53, Mount Clemens 0. NDP is 3-4.

Results still being confirmed

The Journal is still confirming the final scores of Milford at Farmington, Plymouth at Novi, and Royal Oak Shrine vs. Allen Park Cabrini, because published scores conflict. Detroit Country Day hosts Cranbrook Kingswood on Saturday. We'll add those results once they're confirmed.

Most other OAA teams are still waiting on crossover pairings. MHSAA Selection Sunday is Oct. 25.
