Walled Lake Northern falls to Livonia Stevenson 43-12 at homecoming

Walled Lake Northern lost its homecoming game to Livonia Stevenson 43-12 on Friday, Oct. 2, dropping the Knights to 1-5.

Walled Lake Northern's homecoming night ended in a 43-12 loss to Livonia Stevenson on Friday, Oct. 2, according to the Oakland Press Week 6 scoreboard.

The game was listed as "Homecoming – Football" on the Northern athletics event calendar.

The loss dropped the Knights to 1-5.

A tough stretch

Northern had come close the week before. On Friday, Sept. 25, the Knights lost 35-34 to district rival Walled Lake Central, the Oakland Press reported.

Stevenson, meanwhile, bounced back after a 29-7 loss to Farmington on Sept. 25.

Across the Walled Lake district

The three Walled Lake high schools have had different results this fall.

Walled Lake Western is 5-1 and 2-1 in the Lakes Valley Conference after a 54-6 win over Central on Oct. 2. The Warriors also beat Lakeland 49-14 on Sept. 25. The Warriors can still win the league by winning their last two road games.

Central is 1-5; its lone win was the 35-34 victory over Northern.

What's next

Northern plays a district rivalry game at Walled Lake Western on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m.

The Knights then visit Livonia Franklin on Friday, Oct. 16, and close the regular season at home against North Farmington on Friday, Oct. 23.

Western visits South Lyon East on Oct. 16 and Milford on Oct. 23. Central visits Livonia Churchill on Oct. 9, then hosts South Lyon on Oct. 16 and Livonia Franklin on Oct. 23.

North Farmington, Northern's final opponent, is 4-2 after a 35-8 loss at Milford on Oct. 2.

The MHSAA will reveal playoff pairings on Selection Sunday, Oct. 25, with district games running Oct. 30 through Nov. 7.
