Southfield police have arrested a Detroit man they say exposed himself and performed a lewd act inside the Southfield Public Library earlier this month.

Jaylin Bradford, 23, was arraigned Monday afternoon, Oct. 19, in 46th District Court on one count of aggravated indecent exposure, The Oakland Press and WDIV/ClickOnDetroit reported. Bond was set at $1,000 cash or surety. The charge is a high court misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in jail, a fine of up to $2,000, or both, the Oakland Press reported. Bradford is presumed innocent.

Police released photos of the man last week and asked the public for help. Read our earlier story.

How police found him

Police say the man came into the library at about 4:50 p.m. Oct. 9, went to the third floor and later left in a silver or light-blue Chrysler Town & Country minivan, WDIV reported.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, officers got an alert from the city's Flock license plate camera system that the minivan had come into Southfield, police said. Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren told FOX 2 that officers guessed the man might go back to the library. They found him and the minivan there and arrested him without incident, police said.

The Oakland Press reported that Bradford was booked into the Oakland County Jail shortly before 7 p.m. Monday and was still listed there as of midday Tuesday.

His next court date is a probable cause conference at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 2 before Judge Shelia Johnson, according to WDIV and the Oakland Press.
