The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help after a man fired several gunshots following a two-car crash near Pontiac High School early Sunday, Oct. 18.

Deputies were called at about 1:37 a.m. to the 700 block of East Beverly Avenue for a report of a crash followed by gunfire, CBS Detroit reported.

According to witnesses, the crash happened near East Beverly and Arlene Street when a tan sedan hit the back of a white sedan. The sheriff's office said a man from the white car then went to the tan car's driver's side and shot into the ground several times.

Both cars then sped west on East Beverly toward Joslyn, the sheriff's office said. CBS Detroit reported the street as Joslyn Avenue; the Oakland Press reported Joslyn Road.

Deputies found 10 spent 9 mm shell casings, one live round and pieces of vehicle debris in the road. The Oakland Press reported that deputies found no apparent bullet damage nearby.

Investigators have security video that shows part of what happened, and they are still working to determine the circumstances, the sheriff's office said.

Anyone with information on the people involved or where either car is now is asked to call the sheriff's office at 248-858-4950.
