Michigan Medicine plans to build a cardiovascular and advanced imaging center in Troy, WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) reported Wednesday.
The building will house the Samuel and Jean Frankel Cardiovascular Center and the Sidney and Madeline Forbes Advanced Imaging Center, according to WXYZ. It is expected to open in late 2027 or early 2028.
It will sit next to the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg Troy Center for Specialty Care, a four-story outpatient center that is expected to open in spring 2027, the station reported. Community leaders, project partners and residents signed a final steel beam Wednesday to mark a construction milestone, according to WXYZ.
Julie Ishak, president of U-M Health Academic Medical Center, told WXYZ that about 200,000 patients travel to Ann Arbor for care every year. Michigan Medicine CEO Ganesh Palapattu, Nate Forbes, managing partner of The Forbes Company, and Troy Mayor Ethan Baker also spoke, according to the station.
City officials say future discussions will include plans for housing, retail and restaurants around the site, WXYZ reported.
