More than four years after fire swept through Holly's Battle Alley, Andy's Place is back.

The restaurant at 208 S. Broad St. is holding a reopening celebration today, Saturday, Oct. 10, from 1 to 10 p.m., WDIV reported. A full reopening is expected by the end of October.

Rebuilt from the ground up

The June 21, 2022, fire destroyed Andy's Place and other businesses in Holly's historic downtown. The building, more than 150 years old, was a total loss. Owner Andrea Chapin also lost personal belongings stored on the second floor, where she had planned to build an apartment, according to WDIV.

Chapin, a mother of seven, runs the restaurant with her children. She told the station the new space is "different, but it's the same," and that the family wants to keep the old feel.

"This really was that neighborhood gathering place, and we want it to be that way again," Chapin said.
