A 28-year-old Highland Township man has been charged with a drug-delivery felony more than two years after the date of the alleged offense in the township, according to court and jail records.
Timothy James Kalis, 28, of Highland Township, is charged with one count of delivering or manufacturing less than 50 grams of a controlled substance listed as a narcotic, cocaine or heroin, according to the 52nd District Court in Novi. The court record lists the offense date as Sept. 6, 2024, and the location as Highland Township. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office, which patrols Highland Township under contract, is listed as the investigating agency.
Court records do not describe what Kalis is accused of doing or which drug was involved. The charge is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison under Michigan law.
A charge is an accusation, not proof of guilt. Kalis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
