A Berkley man charged in sexual assault cases in more than one community will be sentenced next week after pleading no contest in two Oakland County cases, C&G Newspapers reported Tuesday.

Darren Bradford, 26, pleaded no contest Sept. 10 to nine counts of criminal sexual conduct in his Berkley case, according to the Oakland County Circuit Court website as cited by C&G. He had been charged there with eight counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Bradford also pleaded no contest in a separate Bloomfield Township case. He is set to be sentenced in both at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in circuit court, C&G reported.

Background

Berkley police told C&G that before Bradford's arrest in February 2025, they had heard that teens were often seen visiting an apartment complex in the city. Police said they learned Bradford was allegedly giving the minors alcohol and drugs, including nicotine and marijuana vape products. One teen later reported being sexually assaulted, police said.

Bradford also had a case in Grosse Pointe Park. He pleaded guilty last December to one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct there and was sentenced to two to 15 years in prison, C&G reported.

Berkley Sgt. Dave Arney told C&G the investigation was long because it involved more than one police department. He said he was glad the case was ending "so all the victims can move on."

C&G said it could not reach Bradford's attorney, Nicole Blank Becker, for comment.
